November 2019 LTU Update

November 2019 Newsletter

Come Shopping in Midland This Weekend!

Lift Them Up is going to have our Pop-Up Artisan Craft Boutique at this year's Holly Jolly Market, at the Bush Convention Center in Midland Texas, on Saturday Nov. 9th, from 10am-7pm!

We'll have a variety of our Nyiramugisha jewelry from Rwanda: necklaces, earrings, woven bowls, giraffes, etc...

New to our collection are handmade shawls from Syrian refugees and some beautiful Middle-East themed paintings (see below) by an Iraqi Christian. These are phenominal and the proceeds from the paintings will support missionaries in the Middle East!

100% of all artisan craft sales will go DIRECTLY to the artisans!

You can be a blessing to families recovering from post-genocidal poverty WHILE getting a jump on your Christmas shopping!  Hope to see you there!

(the paintings have a protective plastic covering on them in the pictures)
This is a really great opportunity for LTU, but we still need 2 more volunteers to make it happen.  Could you be free in the afternoon/early evening on Saturday to help with the booth?  Check out the schedule below and give me a call or shoot me a text for more information.  Thank you so much for your support!

This is going to be a HUGE blessing for all of our artisans.  About 4,000 people are expected to attend this event throughout the day!  All of the booths are sold out.  We're blessed to have gotten a spot!
Speaking of awesome volunteers... a HUGE 'Thank You' to these wonderful ladies for helping me tag and organize necklaces for the above mentioned sales event.

We met at the library last week for a few hours and made a HUGE dent in our un-tagged inventory.  Ya'll saved me DAYS of work.  Thank you sooo much!  And on top of that, it was fun getting to chat and catch up!  God bless you for your kindness.

And while we're on the topic of kindness, I also want to send out a HUGE 'Thank You' to Loft Church of Herrin, IL.  Last week, I traveled with our Iraq ministry partner, BJ of ACI, to meet with their church family and share our presentation on 'Names and Faces of the Syrian Refugee Crisis'.
Their hospitality was such a blessing to us!  They prayed for us, fed us, prophesied over us, and poured into us in so many different ways.  It was refreshing and a divine appointment, for sure.  And a huge blessing to get to spend time with them all over the weekend.

It was only my second time visiting, but the heavenly atmosphere that this church cultivates makes it feel like home almost instantly.  You can watch a live stream of their services every Sunday night @6pm and see for yourself!

So thank you, Loft Church, for listening to our stories and testimonies and for being a part of the work that we're doing in Rwanda, Iraq, and Pakistan.  Together we are shining the Light of Christ into some of the darkest of places and bringing hope to the hopeless.

Do you have a heart for spreading the Gospel around the world?  The children of our Pakistani church partners have asked us if we could get them Bibles in their heart language, Urdu.

It's possible!  We can!  We have access to a local vendor and can get the Bibles into the hands of these future pastors, prophets, and evangelists for only $10 each.  We need 200 of them.

They will go to Christian children in 3 different villages, who regularly attend the traveling Sunday School Meal Program, but who want to be able to take the Word of God home with them, too!

If you want to help us to pour into these future lions for the Gospel, click the link below to make a secure donation to our Pakistani Blessing Fund.  Or you can send a check to our office with "Pakistani Children's Bibles" in the memo line. (see address at the bottom of newlsetter)
100% of what you give will go to this project!
$20 = 2 Bibles *  $100=10 Bibles * $2000= 200 Bibles!

I love this time of year; Christmas is right around the corner!  We don't have exact pricing yet on this year's Sponsorship Christmas Gifts, most likely Goats and Gardens again, but we'll try to have that to you within the next week.  Our ballpark estimate, so that you can plan accordingly, is $40.

We'll also be coming up with some other gift ideas, that when purchased, we'll send you a custom 'Thank You' card with the project that you supported, for you to give as a gift to your loved one- to show them the joy that has been spread on their behalf.

Novembers Action Items

Here's a quick review:

  • Come shopping on Saturday
  • We need 2 more volunteers
  • $10 buys a Pakistani Bibles for a child
  • Plan for Goats for Christmas

And lastly, you're wonderful and we couldn't do this without you!

This is getting to be the super-busy time of year (and I'm getting closer and closer to having this baby boy!), but I don't want to miss the opportunity to say how incredibly grateful and thankful that I am to be apart of this great and beautiful work with you.

As we take time to reflect on all of the blessings from this year and to spend time with family, I just want you to know that I consider you an integral part of our LTU family.

Our board and I count ourselves blessed to know you and to have your trust in this undertaking of exporting the Hope of the World to the nations and being His 'hands and feet' to orphans, widows, and other vulnerable people living in post-genocide countries.

God bless you and keep you,
